DAY 1 : Arrive, bike set up and brief ready to start riding on day 2.

STAGE 1 : 72km, 950m gain

ROSES / BESALÚ A stage of contrasting scenes, mainly flat and passing through the beautiful area of Empordà along tracks though rural areas and Mediterranean forest taking us to the Garrotxa region. The route passes through different villages where we can have some food and a break. The arrival is in Besalú, a little town with an impressive medieval bridge.

STAGE 2 : 72km, 950m gain

BESALÚ / CAMPRODON This stage takes in the breathtaking beauty of the Alta Garrotxa and Pre-Pyrenees area.  Some challenging paths with varied terrain leading us to the foot of the Pyrenees, the village of Camprodon.

STAGE 3 :72km, 950m gain

CAMPRODON / LA MOLINA A spectacular stage of the tour due to its altitude and panoramic views. We ascend 2000 meters through the “Collada verda”. A challenging stage as a result of its elevation gain in the core area of the Catalan Pyrenees. The end of this stage is at the ski resort “La Molina”, a good place to end a stage which will be remembered by all cyclists.

STAGE 4 : 69km, 1600m gain

LA MOLINA / LA SEU D’URGELL Some challenging stretches for this stage at a high altitude. A beautiful itinerary with magnificent views of different 200 mts peaks of the Cadí mountain range. The stage ends in the city of la Seu d’Urgell, famous for its gothic cathedral.

STAGE 5 : 59km, 1650m gain

LA SEU D’URGELL / GERRI DE LA SAL In this stage we ride along isolated tracks and paths. This stage is of great difficulty as it is a long itinerary without any villages on the way for stopping and taking a break, from Espaén to Gerri de la Sal. Food and water supplies will be vital to finish this stage successfully.

STAGE 6 : 54km, 1550m gain

GERRI DE LA SAL / PONT DE SUERTThe last stage in the Catalan Pyrenees which will drive us to the town of Pont de Suert, the door to the region of Aragón, and the start of the Aragonese Pyrenees. The stage has few villages for stopping at and resting because the route follows tracks and paths among uninhabited mountains.

STAGE 7 : 55km, 1500m gain

PONT DE SUERT / CAMPO The Last stage of the Challenge. We jump into the Aragonese Pyrenees, with some challenging tracks and paths. We ride very close to the valley of Benasque with some of the most impressive mountains of the Peninsula, such as the peak of Aneto or La Maladeta, both with a height of more than 3000 meters.
